It’s been about a month since Tim McGraw kicked off the Brothers of the Sun Tour with Kenny Chesney, which means it’s also been a month-long adventure of sampling new music to fans. Those who have caught shows recently have been lucky enough to hear at least two new McGraw tunes – ’Mexicoma’ and ‘Truck Yeah.’

On Tuesday, McGraw’s camp announced that ‘Truck Yeah’ will be the first single from his highly-anticipated new album, which will be released later in 2012.

“There’s three or four songs that’s part of the project that we could [have] come with first,” McGraw tells Taste of Country. “We did ‘Mexicoma’ and ‘Truck Yeah’ [opening weekend of the Brothers of the Sun Tour], and I don’t think that I’ve ever done new songs that have had such an impact.”

‘Truck Yeah’ will hit country radio on July 3, but even after the song is out there, McGraw insists that he will not kick his feet up to relax by any means.

“There’s always work to be done,” he says. “You can’t ever sit back and sort of look at your career in past tense. I feel like I’m only about 30 percent into my career. I always want things to be better. That’s the way I look at things … how can I make things better.”

This weekend, the Brothers of the Sun Tour will stop in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Click here for a full list of dates where the tour will be stopping.
