Las Vegas’ Venetian Hotel is said to be making an announcement this week about the biggest musical event in its history — and we think it’s safe to assume that they’ll be publicizing a Tim McGraw and Faith Hill residency in Sin City.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, tomorrow (August 7) the Venetian will host a press conference to officially confirm the rumors that have been flying for several months.

Robin Leech — former host of ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’ — first speculated about the powerhouse couple’s residency with an article in the Sun paper in May. Leech wrote that the King and Queen of honky tonk had slated several performance dates for a 1,800-seat theater on the strip the city of sin. But so far, despite how much fans may want to see this husband-wife duo take the stage, nobody has been able to really etch the buzz in concrete.

But it seems likely that Mr. and Mrs. McGraw will soon add their star power to the growing number of country music acts already taking place in Vegas. Garth Brooks was coaxed out of retirement by a five-year deal to play the 1,500-seat Encore Theater, and Shania Twain is part of an all-star lineup, including Celine Dion and Elton John, that will share the Colosseum this fall.

For McGraw, a Las Vegas residency will come on the heels of a busy summer playing sold-out venues with Kenny Chesney on the Brothers of the Sun Tour. After filming an episode of ‘Austin City Limits’ tonight, McGraw’s next gig is August 10, which will give him a few days off to — hopefully — make an announcement about a temporary move to Las Vegas with his equally talented wife.
