Sadly, the loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' Since last Monday’s post, we have brought home four (4) more from the U.S. Army. 3 who were Killed In Action and one from non-combat injuries. Enough is enough!  Our brave men and women have served and protected a foreign country for long enough.

    1st Lt. Timothy G. Santos Jr. - Age 29 from Helena, Alabama. Died 18 August in Fort Bliss, Texas, from a non-combat related illness diagnosed on March 24, in Kuwait City, Kuwait.  1st Lt. Timothy G. Santos Jr. was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

    Master Sgt. George A. Bannar Jr.

    Master Sgt. George A. Bannar Jr. - Age 37 from Orange, Virginia. Killed In Action, 20 August, of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. Master Sgt. George A. Bannar Jr. was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, N.C.

    Spc. Kenneth Clifford Alvarez - Age 23 from Santa Maria, California. Killed In Action, 23 August, in Haft Asiab, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device during combat operations. Spc. Kenneth Clifford Alvarez was assigned to 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.  Also killed was Pvt. Jonathon Michael Dean Hostetter.

Jonathon Michael Dean Hostetter - Age 20 from Humphreys, Missouri. Killed In Action, 23 August, in Haft Asiab, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device during combat operations. Pvt. Jonathon Michael Dean Hostetter was assigned to 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. Also killed was Spc. Kenneth Clifford Alvarez.
