Thompson Square Win Duo Video of the Year for ‘I Got You’ at 2012 CMT Music Awards
At the 2012 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday evening (June 6), the buckle for Duo Video of the Year went to Thompson Square for ‘I Got You.’
When the married made it to the stage to graciously accept their award, Keifer Thompson said, “Wow. This has been an amazing ride for me and Shawna. First, we want to thank God for all the blessings and country fans for changing our lives forever.” That short but heartfelt speech gave new meaning to the idea of ‘for God and country!’
Shawna concurred, stepping up to the podium to say, “It wasn’t long ago that we were selling boots and buckles at a store down the street.” My, how the tables have turned, as they picked up their own buckle of a different sort in the form of a 2012 CMT Music Award.
Congrats to Thompson Square for nabbing the Duo Video of the Year for ‘I Got You,’ which appears on their self-titled debut.
