Thompson School District Sets Calendar for 2015-2016 School Year

The first day that kids go back to school will be August 21st. They’d better get all their summer fun in quick! When they do get back to school, they’ll find less of those four-day school weeks than before as well before it all ends again at the end of May, 2016. Work, work, work!

167 days of school. I think that’s what’s meant when they say ‘167 teacher contact days.’ Though the Thompson School District and the teachers union (Thompson Education Association) haven’t come to an agreement (contract) for the upcoming year, they do agree on the schedule. So, once they DO agree on the contract, the kids and parents already know what day the 167 begin.

August 21, 2015 - May 26, 2016 is the scheduled calendar year for students.

Thanksgiving Break: November 23rd through 27th.

Christmas Break: December 21st through January 1st.

Spring Break: April 4th through 8th.

Looking for a little extra income? With another school year, comes the need for school bus drivers and crossing guards. Maybe you have what it takes. I can see these as either being really great jobs, or one that you detest. On one side, you get to get the kids to and from important places, while perhaps building a nice bond with them. On the other, kids can suck!
