Sadly, the loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' Since last Monday’s post, we have brought home three (3) more soldiers from the United States Army. One of them had been battling for his life since mid August after his unit was hit with an IED. Please feel free to share these Monday reminders to all you know, so they too, will remember that someone is paying for their freedom.

    Sgt. William D. Brown III - Age 44 from Franklin, North Carolina. Died 19 September 2013 in Laghman Province, Afghanistan, from a non-combat incident. The soldier's death is under investigation. Sgt. William D. Brown III was assigned to the 94th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Polk, La.

  • Spc. James T. Wickliff-Chacin

    Spc. James T. Wickliff-Chacin - Age 22 from Edmond, Oklahoma. Died 20 September 2013 at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol during combat operations in Pul-E-Alam, Afghanistan on Aug. 12. Spc. James T. Wickliff-Chacin was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, Fort Stewart, Ga.
