The Trees Knew it Was the First Day of Fall in Northern Colorado

The changing of the seasons happen four times a year here in Colorado. Albeit sometimes too fast to even notice. Today marks the first day of fall and soon there will be snow on the ground, ice on the roads and seeing your breath for months on end before you know it.

Today seems different. It's gloomy, a little drizzle and if you take a look at the trees, they know that it is time to shed their summer leaves in preparation for winter. It is almost as if they knew that today was the first day of fall like they marked it on their calendar like a business meeting. Leaves that were not changing yesterday have gone full blast into their colors today near the station.
