I don't know about you, but I have my favorite shows and that's what I watch. I rarely watch anything else or even listen to the buzz about new shows. I am set in my ways, oh my, I sound like my grandfather-somebody stop me!

2010 Winter TCA Tour - Day 2
loading...

Recently I was looking at the top list of television shows for 2011 and noticed that I hadn't watched or heard of many of them. In an effort to change that or broaden my television choices I started watching clips from some of the shows out there. Some shows really didn't do anything for me, I didn't laugh, I didn't cry, I was kind of in a veg state hoping the nightmare would end. I know that I could click the stop button, but I was really trying to give each show a chance. I am thankful that I did. I would not have otherwise discovered Parks and Recreation.

Parks and Recreation take me back to Saturday Night Live and like a magical t.v. burrito it wraps the Office around Seinfeld. There is a ton of talent on this show. Dry humor and slap you in the face comedy. The episode I fell upon was "Citizen Knope" and I seriously laughed out loud for a good minute when the characters started describing their candy additions to the office gingerbread house in honor of a suspended co-worker, Leslie Knope, played by former SNL regular Amy Poehler.

Whatever you watch I hope you enjoy, but seriously if you get a chance tune into Parks and Recreation Thursday nights on NBC.
