The Pure Joy of Watching Children Make Christmas Cookies [VIDEO/PICTURES]

This weekend the Christmas spirit was flowing in our home thanks to wife and grandsons. I love when my wife starts to feel Christmas. She decorated our tree beautifully and the smell of Christmas cookies was filling the air this weekend. In past years the secret ingredient to her baking cookies was vodka. It seemed if she had a little of the devil's water she turned into an elf. This year she was just naturally filled with the spirit and it was awesome to see, hear and smell.

I was sitting in the living room watching football while listening and watching them go to work in the kitchen. My wife has been trying for years to perfect my mother's cut out cookie recipe and this year she nailed it.

I am so blessed to have these wonderful heartbeats in my home to share my life with and the joy they all bring me is unmeasurable. The boys made many pieces of edible art and I cannot wait to sample what they so proudly created.

Thank you Kyla, Zander and Zayden for keeping a family holiday tradition alive. I look forward to years and years of green Christmas penguins.
