The overall winner is the one people talk the most smack about:  Candy corn, winning in six states as the most popular Halloween goodie to give to trick-or-treaters.  Maybe because it's cheap?

Nebraska's favorite?  Sour Patch Kids.  Ew!  Although my girls love them, so probably no surprise those are the second most common to hand out.

Each of these is the Halloween handout of choice in four states:  M&M's, Milky Ways, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers, and Tootsie Pops.  NOW we're talkin,' baby.

The following took the win for only one state each:  Almond Joys, Hershey's Kisses, Lemonheads (why?), 3 Musketeers, and Life Savers.

Oh, and that 3 Musketeers?  That's because of us!  That is the most common candy to hand out to visiting costumed friends in Colorado.

I can't believe Twix is only #1 in Alaska.  And NO states top out with Butterfingers nor Kit Kats.  No wonder the world's in the shape it's in!

Here are the states that apparently hate everyone:  Georgia (although everyone I've met from Georgia was actually really nice) buying the most Swedish Fish than any other Halloween candy... um-kay... and Montana - for buying GUM more than any other treat to hand out.

Oh well, anything's better than an eraser.  Except Mike & Ikes.
