Today is Johnny Cash Day. I think it should be a national holiday. On this date in 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas the king of country Mr. Johnny Cash was born. Can you imagine what music would be like if he was never born? Neither can I. There is not an artist making country music today that does not owe a debt of gratitude to Johnny for the path he blazed. He is a member of just about every kind of musical hall of fame there is and rightfully so.

Johnny would be 84 years old today. He would probably still be making important and relevant music if he were still with us. Thanks for all you did for our format and you will always be the man in black. Here are a few of my Cash favorites.

This one is so raw and painful. You can actually feel the "Hurt".

I always loved this one about the coolest car theft ever.

Waylon teaming up with Johnny for this one was one of the coolest things ever.

This may be the most awesome cover of "Ring of Fire" ever.
