The Key To A Successful Thanksgiving Dinner Is Lots Of Planning
We are taking a cruise for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary during Thanksgiving week, so our family had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday afternoon with Brian and Susan and a few other friends. My Father-in-law Byron cooks a ton of food, but he makes it look easy because he has a system. He makes a very detailed schedule of when to do what, so there is no stressing in the preparation of the meal...and what a meal it was.
Here is what we had on the menu yesterday:
-Two turkeys (One deep-fried and one roasted in the oven)
-A Ham
-Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
-Stuffing or Dressing
-Green Beans
-Corn
-Rolls
-Cranberry
- Yam Casserole
-Pumpkin Pie
-Pecan Pie (The pies were pre-made)
-Jello Salad
Here is what the schedule looked like to get it all done in an orderly fashion:
