I can vividly remember getting my first pair of cowboy boots when I was a kid. I loved those boots. I would wear them everywhere and did until my feet starting coming through the bottoms of them. There is something special about a child and their first pair of boots. Yesterday was that day for my youngest grandson Zayden.

I grew up in small town in North Dakota so cowboy boots and Carhartt's were things that were very important. I still wear cowboy boots and Carhartt's nearly every day and couldn't wait until my grandboys got their first. I came home yesterday to find my wife had taken Zayden out to get his and he picked out Carhartt headgear and new cowboy boots. He wanted the John Deere boots. You can only imagine how proud I was.

This boy played all day with his Carhartt hat and John Deere boots on and thought he was the coolest thing in town. I have to say that I agree with him. I could not look at him without smiling and feeling the pride swell my chest. He loved his as much as I loved mine. Do you remember your first pair of cowboy boots?
