The Hay Bank in Colorado Helps Feed Horses
Over the weekend, the Colorado Humane Society reported the suspected
starvation death of a mare. She had a colt at her side and he’s expected to
survive and eventually be adopted. The horse was relinquished by its owner
in eastern Colorado. While it’s too late to save this new mother horse, the C.H.S.
says there is help for horse owners who can’t afford to buy hay. The Hay Bank,
with 3 locations in Colorado, is a nonprofit corporation. Their Mission: to provide
free hay to horse owners who have found themselves in an economic struggle
and are without the means to feed their horses.
