The Greatest Dad – Brian’s Blog

Sunday is Father's Day. I want to tell you about the greatest dad in the world...mine. I have been so fortunate to have had the most wonderful example of what a man should be. I was not a good kid and gave my dad every reason in the world to give up on me but he never did. He has always been right there beside me.

As kids, my brother and I were always wanted to be with dad. Everywhere you would go in town people would smile and be so happy to see my dad. I can honestly say I have never met anyone who didn't think my dad was awesome. We always were so proud knowing he was our dad. I remember dad always falling asleep in his chair downstairs while we watched TV. He would wake up and say he should go to bed. We would ask him to just stay downstairs with us because even if he was asleep we just felt better with him around us.

I have had the best living example of what a father, husband, brother, son and grandfather should be. I have paid attention and hopefully have applied what I have learned. I hope one day my kids think of me with just a fraction of the adoration and respect I have for my dad. Dad, thank you for being the first one I call when something good happens. You always have been my biggest supporter. Thank you for being the first one I call when things go bad. You are the best listener I know. I love you dad. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for me. I am so honored to be your son and get to call you my dad. Happy Father's Day
