The Greatest Christmas Gift I Have Ever Received – Brian’s Blog

My parents came to visit this weekend and my mother brought me the greatest Christmas gift I could ever receive. It may not seem like much to you but to me it means the world. It is a little decorative stuffed Santa. To some it may look like a creepy mantle Santa but me and that guy have quite a history.

Ever since I was a little boy my mother would decorate the house beautifully for Christmas. The main decoration that I couldn't wait to come out was this little stuffed Santa. I would hold him and tell him what I wanted and share all my joys and wants with him. He just made me feel good and feel Christmas. Even as I got older and would come home for Christmas I would grab that Santa and sit and hold him. His beard is a little dirty and his face a little faded but he is still full of magic.

After my parents left on Sunday evening, I grabbed my Santa and held him and started to cry. It took me to such a warm place. This little guy makes me feel like my mom is right there with me. There are so many times when I wish my mom was closer and could hug her anytime I wanted. We may have miles between us but now with Santa at my place I can pick him up and feel my mom right there any time I need.

Thank you for greatest gift ever mom. I will take great care of him, just as you did to him and me. Merry Christmas.
