Now Colorado has added another title to the list of amazing things from the legalization of marijuana. The world's very first marijuana tax funded scholarship has arrived in Pueblo County. According to a press release from the Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation the scholarship will be accepting applications for the fall 2016 and spring 2017 school years. PHEF is accepting the Pueblo County Scholarship applications and expects to award $25,000 in 2016 and 2017.

Applicants mus currently be a resident of Pueblo County, a graduating high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0 with a minimum of 12 credit hours and attending a public institution located in Pueblo county.

Not only will students have the opportunity to receive a scholarship, they will also have to preform 40 hours of community service to a non-profit agency.

PHEF will be accepting completed applications submitted through email, faxed or mailed and delivered until tomorrow (April 29th, 2016) at 5 p.m.
