I grew up hearing the phrase "a family that prays together, stays together." I think that phrase is true but so is the phrase "a family that plays together, stays together." When was the last time you sat down as a family and played a game? We have started to implement Game Night at our house and it is huge hit. We may gather to play a game of Trouble, Life, Monopoly or Mouse Trap. The togetherness it creates is priceless.

I grew up in family that played together all the time. My dad has always been known to have a dice cup ready at all times to do a little shaking and gambling. He passed this trait down to both of his sons as my brother and I are both known to always have a dice cup handy as well. My parents came to visit this weekend and as usual, it turned into a dice shaking festival. We play 6-5-4 for quarters and let the kids in on it. They always seem to be the ones to win too. My grandson Zander walked away with about $7 this weekend. We were able to talk and laugh and see the fun side of each other. We all need that. Make sure you are taking the time to play with your family and not just share a place to sleep. The world would be a much better place if we all sat down for dinner as families and spent a little more time playing together.
