All lovers of music are mourning the loss of the man, the legend, the poet, The Hag. Merle Haggard left a permanent mark on the world of music and we will be forever grateful for the soundtrack of our lives he provided. There is not an artist in our format who does not owe a debt of gratitude to this man. He made music until he died and I can't imagine he would have wanted it any other way.

Last August Merle performed right here in Windsor for Bulls on the Beach. It was an amazing thing to have the man right here in our backyard. What was even more amazing was I fulfilled a lifelong dream of getting to interview Merle. I have been a fan since I was a child so, for one of the few times in my life, I was actually nervous about the interview. THIS WAS MERLE HAGGARD! I am so thankful that I was able to talk to him and consider it one of the coolest things I have ever gotten to do in my career. Check out that interview that had me grinning from ear to ear. We miss you already Merle.
