If you stopped by your local Starbucks today, you may have noticed that your usual Venti mocha, half cream, half soy, extra whip, double shot of espresso may have been a little more expensive. Starting today, Starbucks is charging five to twenty cents more for several of its drinks, even though, recent coffee prices have dropped, and the company reported a 18% growth last quarter. According to Fortune, the price hike is due to rising rents of it stores. It is also being credited to increased healthcare costs and higher wages. However, I can't be mad at that, since Starbucks has always paid its employees more than the minimum wage, and offers them health insurance.

It's reported that this will affect their Tall and Venti brewed coffees, but not their Food, packaged coffee, or and some drinks such as a Frappuccinos and Grande-sized brewed coffees.
