Today is National Brothers and Sisters Day. This is the day to let the siblings in your life know how much they mean to you and connect with them. I am from a family of only two children. I have one older brother Mike who has had my back from day one...for the most part.

We are brothers just like any others who certainly had our share of fights growing up but when it came down to it, would always be there for each other. He is still one the funniest and most fun people to be around that I know. We have so many wonderful memories of messing with my dad while growing up. My brother is the master of the "hymnal slide". This is where when you are at church, standing and singing, and then as you are about to sit back down in the pew, you slide the hymnal right under your dad's butt. My brother could nail it perfectly every time and dad would give us the "wait until after church" look. We are still like two little kids when we get together and even though we are both in our 50's we still always find a way to try to tackle each other when the other isn't expecting it. We will do this until the day we die.

I love my brother Mike and feel blessed to have him with me then and now. Reach out and let your brothers and sisters know how much you love them today. To all my non blood brothers and sisters...my love goes out to you today as well. Thanks for this amazing life.
