Teen Dies in Accident After Being Struck By a Semitrailer Near Firestone

Authorities are reporting that one teenager is dead and another taken to the hospital after an accident involving a semitrailer near Firestone.

According to an article in the Greeley Tribune, Colorado State Patrol has responded to a crash involving a semi and a Chevy 1500 Silverado at the intersection of Weld County Roads 19 and 20 around 12:15 p.m.

The passenger of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver, a teenage boy, was taken to North Colorado Medical Center via ambulance. Weld County Sheriff's Office spokesman Cpl. Matt Turner said "it appeared that the Chevy 1500 Silverado pulled out in front of the semitrailer at the intersection".
