Every year our fridge is decorated with Christmas cards. I know some of the people but honestly have no idea who 40% of the people on my fridge are. I do love getting Christmas cards though.
I love watching Christmas specials with my family. I know there have a been a ton of new ones lately but there four that come on every year that I just can't wait for. It is not the holiday season if I don't see How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolf but which is the best?
When it comes to Christmas trees, my family and I always used to buy a real tree. I was convinced that you had to have a real tree to get the feel and smell of Christmas. We had a tradition of going out together and picking the perfect tree.
This is the big week in retail. All the stores are hoping you will line up and try to save big bucks on Black Friday...but will you be there? There are many people who wait all year long for Black Friday bargains and then there are those who would rather have a root canal them shop on Friday.
I cannot wait for Thursday. I love Thanksgiving almost as much as Christmas. A holiday built on thankfulness and food is the perfect celebration to me. There are so many great smells that day.
Today is Play Monopoly Day. I have always loved playing board games and Monopoly has always been a family favorite. We even have the Wii game and have one downloaded on our iPad too.
Tonight is the night. The CMA awards will be handed out. Who will get to take home the trophies? Will Blake Shelton and Miranda rule the country world again?
Tomorrow is the big night in country music. The CMA awards are on tomorrow and I can't wait for all the great performances and to see who brings home the hardware. The big award each year is the Entertainer of the Year Award.
Going through the trick or treat bag was always one of the highlights of the year. I would sort it out into piles of my favorites, the okay ones and the crap pile that I would end up sharing with my parents.
I admit I have always been a bit of horror movie fan. My daughter and I have watched them together for years. I don't like to watch them alone but love watching them with someone.
Halloween is just around the corner when the ghouls and goblins will be all over the place. We will see kids and adults dressed up as all sorts of fake creatures but do you believe in real ones?
We are all familiar with Mt. Rushmore and it being a tribute to four of our greatest presidents. What if they decided to make a Mt. Rushmore paying tribute to the great female vocalists in the history of country music?
