Thompson Square were going to give it one more shot and then move on to something else. The married duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson say they had one more showcase as a duo lined up, and if that didn't work out, well ... fans would never know hit songs like 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' or 'If I Didn't Have You.' Fortunately that performance led to a deal with Stoney Creek Records.

Thompson Square seems to be on a roll the past 7 days. The duo just grabbed the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year award last week and then their latest single,“If I Didn't Have You,” soared into the Top 40 this week – only two weeks after the song was released.

There is no hotter band in the country right now than Lady Antebellum. Last Sunday they won "Best Country Album" at the Grammy Awards for "Own The Night".  They are the reigning CMA and ACM "Vocal Group of the Year". Tonight they are playing at Pepsi Center in Denver with Darius Rucker and Thompson Square (Who was also nominated for a Grammy).

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards take place tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Grammys have officially announced a performance from Jennifer Hudson honoring the late Whitney Houston. Red carpet coverage begins on E! and TV Guide network at 3 p.m. MT, and the telecast airs on CBS at 6 p.m.

Country music was well represented last night on American Idol.  After nailing Lonestar‘s ‘Amazed’ with his first performance,  Scotty McCreery took on  Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine’s choice of ‘Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not’ by Thompson Square. Scotty also did a version of Kenny Rogers' classic "She Believes in Me".
