Last night was part 1 of the Season 10 American Idol Finale! Country music was well represented as Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina faced off for the final time. Each of the contestants performed 3 songs.
Country music was well represented last night on American Idol. After nailing Lonestar‘s ‘Amazed’ with his first performance, Scotty McCreery took on Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine’s choice of ‘Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not’ by Thompson Square. Scotty also did a version of Kenny Rogers' classic "She Believes in Me".
How cool is this? Scotty McCreery from American Idol had his idol, and mine too, Josh Turner join him for his homecoming. McCreery had no idea that Turner was about to walk on stage to join him in singing "Your Man" until he got to the 2nd verse and had to wave his band off. McCreery struggled to find the right thing to say, but eventually finished the song with Turner!
'American Idol' season 10 is officially down to the final three. Over 72 million votes were cast this week, making it the highest top-four vote ever in the history of the show. James Durbin, the 22-year-old rocker was sent packing Thursday night.
"American Idol" was supposed to be Songs of Leiber & Stoller, but the "Idol" producers decided they didn't have enough songs to fill a whole show. So Wednesday's "Idol" is now one-half Inspirational Songs, mentored by nobody, and one-half Leiber & Stoller, mentored by Lady Gaga. It's down to the final 4, but the show last night seemed to lack the spark of previous weeks.
Last night on American Idol it was “Songs of the 21st Century”. The contestants could choose any song from 2000 to now to sing and there were some odd choices. Scotty McCreery started things out with the odd choice of “Swingin” which was a bit hit for John Anderson in the 70’s and remade by Lee Ann Rimes this past year. Scotty was his usual self and sounded good but it was the most boring performance he has done yet.
Last night’s American Idol was a great show with just a couple exceptions. Keep in mind these opinions do not reflect the management, co- workers or pets of any employees of K99 radio or Townsquare Media. Last night’s theme was “songs from movies” and once again our country boy Scotty McCreery was one of the best.
It was Elton John week on ‘American Idol,’ and Scotty McCreery chose the song ‘Country Comfort.’ Scotty played acoustic guitar and performed with a pianist and a pedal-steel player. The judges liked his performance
