It will be almost 11 months since we had to re-route the original ride plan for the 2012 Sleigh Riders 'Summer Series' event due to the High Park Fire consuming half the route. So we wanted to give back and on Saturday May 4th, 2013, we will do just that.

Your donation to the Colorado State Forest Service is tax deductible so if you want to plant some trees or just help buy some you can contact the Colorado State Forest Service with the information provided below.

Details are starting to emerge as we get closer to Spring on replanting a section of the High Park Fire area. As many remember, the Sleigh Riders "Summer Series" event had to be moved due to the fact that half the ride route was on fire. So we decided to do something about it.

U.S. Forest Service firefighters plan to burn slash piles starting as soon as today (Thursday) and may continue through Friday if conditions allow. Burning is planned for the Estes Valley and Big Thompson areas, located south and east of Estes Park.

We are expecting snow this weekend, but it still could be your last chance to go camping this season...If you are tough enough. Due to the unseasonably warm weather, there are still a couple campgrounds open for one more week in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District.

There is a small fire burning in the Big Thompson Canyon west of Loveland.

The High Park Fire is 100% contained, but the fire is still smoldering  in some areas and there are still some closures in effect. A closure order remains in effect on a portion of the Roosevelt National Forest west of Fort Collins.

When you are up in the mountains, it's not a bad idea to look up once in a while.   A tree could be coming your way.  High winds continued to topple trees in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Roosevelt National Forest over the weekend.

There is a  fire burning west of Loveland near Storm Mountain!  According to the Canyon Lakes Road Twitter: The Galuchie Fire in the 1700-block of Palisade Mountain Drive is now 14 acres and is was 80% contained.  Firefighters remained on scene overnight. USFS firefighters on scene today. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
