Injured Fort Collins Firefighter Identified

God bless our firefighters.  They put themselves in very dangerous situations to keep us safe and I am grateful for that. The firefighter injured in the July 7th, apartment fire in Fort Collins has been identified. Firefighter Chris Hill suffered 2nd degree burns to his forehead and a 1st degree burn to his back. He was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital, treated and released the same night. Hill will be off work until next week.

An improperly discarded cigarette caused the Sail Boat Fire that burned 1 1/2 acres on the east side of Horsetooth Reservoir on Wednesday. Poudre Fire Authority was called to the fire in the 3300 block of South Centennial drive around 2 pm on Wednesday.

Thanks to a fire sprinkler, a fire at a Fort Collins business park was contained and did not spread yesterday morning. Poudre Fire Authority Firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming off the roof and a fire alarm sounding at at Berken Energy, In the Prospect East Business Park at 2400 Midpoint Drive.

Elderly Man Rescued From Fort Collins Garage Fire [PICTURES]

An elderly man was rescued from a burning garage in west Fort Collins yesterday. The unidentified resident who was attempting to extinguish the fire was helped to escape by a home health care employee, a City of Fort Collins Utilities employee and a neighbor.
