Northern Colorado Bears

The Northern Colorado Bears (0-8, 0-11) ended the season this afternoon with a loss at home to the Portland State Vikings (6-3, 5-2) by a score of 23-17. It appeared the Bears had tied the game with just six seconds left in the game, but the UNC touchdown was called back on a cut block penalty.

North Dakota field goal kicker Zeb Miller made a career-best 54-yard field goal with 1:52 remaining to lift the visiting Fighting Sioux (5-3) over the Bears (0-9) yesterday afternoon at Nottingham Field. Northern Colorado returns to Big Sky Conference play next Saturday as they travel to Flagstaff for a match-up with Northern Arizona (2-4).

The UNC Bears (0-6, 0-4) face the defending national champion Eastern Washington Eagles (2-4, 2-2) on the bright red turf at 5pm tonight in Cheney, Washington. The Bears are 0-5 against EWU in Big Sky Conference matchups, and 1-7 against the Eagles all-time. UNC is also searching for its first ever win in Cheney (0-3).

The wind and driving rain provided a gloomy backdrop to what eventually became a 14-0 loss this afternoon by the UNC Bears (0-6, 0-4) to Big Sky Conference opponent Sacramento State (3-3, 2-2). The Bears trailed the Hornets 7-0 at the half and couldn't climb on top in the second.
