A man was arrested over the weekend due to his connection with the backpack containing a homemade explosive device, that was left outside of police headquarters in a Nederland shopping center on October 11.
Following an investigation that prompted a day-long evacuation of the Caribou Ridge Shopping Center in Nederland on Tuesday, it was determined that the suspicious backpack left outside the town's police station did contain a legitimate explosive device.
The Caribou Ridge Shopping Center in Nederland is currently under an evacuation, as the Boulder County Bomb Squad works to investigate a suspicious backpack that was found on the property this morning.
What started as a fun camping trip over the weekend led to the accusation and arrest of 2 out-of-state campers for arson, resulting in several homes destroyed and a mandatory evacuation for residents living in the 308-acre Cold Springs Fire perimeter.
