April 2, 2012 Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Genie Mjelde at the Loveland Veterans Day parade. Genie is an AMF100 member and she was mentioning a couple who were going to walk across the country to honor their son at the Middle East Conflicts Memorial Wall in Marseilles, Illinois. This is truly an amazing story; the story of Dan and Michelle Benavidez!

Every week I post the names of those “who gave all” from the previous week so we can remember them and remember why we have the freedom we do. Ah, just in time for Valentine’s Day. First it was Justin Timberlake that had a video request to be a date at the Military Ball and now it’s Tebow time, so to speak. Jamie Walden want’s a date to the 2012 Military Ball in April with Denver Bronco’s quarterback, Tim Tebow. Walden posted a creative video on YouTube and it’s getting a lot of attention.
The question is, will it be noticed by Tim Tebow? Watch the creative video below.
President Obama just announced this morning that US troops will leave Iraq by the end of year.
We admit it. These things make us misty.
Army Specialist Matthew Peters of Owensville, Missouri spent a year deployed in Kuwait and Iraq, and hadn’t seen his young son, Blake, in more than six months. When he came home, he decided to pop in on the unsuspecting tyke at school for a hug the kid will probably never forget.
