No U.S. Soldiers Killed In Action – KIA Honor Post Week 9

I personally think there is nothing more beautiful than our American Flag at Sunset and to make that even more special, it's always nice to let you know that another week has gone by and we have no one Killed In Action to report. How do you top news like that?

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Will Escort Travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall To Fort Collins

Have you ever wanted something you just couldn't have? For me, it's a CVMA back patch and knowing I will never get one sucks. You get to a point where you get too old and then it's all too late.

U.S.M.C. Staff Sgt. Jonathan D. Davis Gave His Life For Us Last Week – Week 8 [VIDEO]

We have sadly lost another Marine, Staff Sgt. Jonathan D. Davis, who gave his life last Friday the 22nd. I do believe though that we are seeing an end to our part in the war as it seems the Afghan Military is starting to do more of their part which translates to less American casualties. January 2013 there were 3 deaths compared to 26 in 2012 and February 2012 we saw 18 'Killed In Action."

For Third Straight Week There Is NO ONE To List As ‘Killed In Action’ – Week 7 [VIDEO]

Happy Presidents Day everyone! Normally I would never associate the word "happy" on this Monday post but for the third straight week, in years, we have not lost one single soldier. 0 is a number I can totally get behind. On a different note, the Department of Defense has announced a new medal that has been created.

War Hero’s Come In Both Sexes From The Past 150 Years – Share Your Story

A few weeks ago I wanted to start a feature that honored those in our lives who served in the military either recently or years ago. It's true that most, if not all who served our country, really don't want or care for any recognition but that doesn't mean that friends, family and loved ones can't say thanks.

No One ‘Killed In Action’ For Second Week In A Row – Week 6 [VIDEO]

Typically, this is where you would see my Monday "Killed In Action" Honor Post. From what I can tell, without lots of research, today marks the second week in a row, in over 3 years, that not one single soul lost his/her life while fighting overseas; something we can all be thankful for. We can also be thankful for this...

Charley Salutes Our Local Military Heros – U.S. Army SP4 George Gary Elliott

I have no more respect than I do for those who served in Vietnam; for many reasons. They are all hero's on my book when you talk to most of the Vietnam Vets, the last thing they think of themselves as are hero's and Army SP4 George Elliott is no different.

Department of Defense Has No One Listed As Killed In Action Last Week – Week 5 [VIDEO]

I have now been doing these Monday "Killed In Action" post's for about 60 straight weeks as a reminder to all of us to never forget those who gave their very life on foreign soil so that we may live with the freedom we have. It's a great feeling to not have to report anyone this week but as irony would have it, the greatest military sniper, ever, lost his life to a coward after being shot in the back by a former Marine. What follows is just a small tribute to Navy Seal Chris "The Devil of Ramadi" Kyle.
