I was on my way home from New Mexico Sunday while doing some soul searching and ran into Jim Ellison at a rest area. What a great human being and what he is doing is just amazing considering Jim's frame was not made so much for bicycling.

Make plans for the 4th National Armed Forces FreedomRide (click on their link to find a ride in your state) on Saturday May 18th to observe Armed Forces Day and to acknowledge the importance of remembering those who sacrificed their Freedom.

Five (5) more soldiers have paid the ultimate price since last Monday’s post. These warriors have sacrificed everything and sadly, most of America has no idea because sadly our flags won't fly at half staff for them as a nation. Please remember, “Freedom” isn't free at all; someone has to pay for it; just like these 5 brave men. Please make it a point to share this on your FB pages and social media sites so that everyone knows, every week, that these young men and women continue to die every week.

I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of rap, at all. A good friend of mine who is also not fan, at all, sent me a video that said I had to see. Since it was from Eric Jon Barrett (USMC), I knew it warranted my time and now I am asking the same of you.

I have such a respect for the fighting men and women that lay their lives on the line for our country every single day. During the 28 Hours of Hope I crossed paths with a veteran of the war in Iraq and I had to share his story.

We have lost two more soldiers since last Monday's post. One of the saddest stories is the death of Sgt. Cable as he was stabbed in the neck by an Afghan teen as Sgt. Cable played with some local children. There is no word on the condition of the Afghan teenager. Freedom isn't free at all; someone has to pay for it. Please make it a point this week to go out of your way and thank a soldier. It's a good habit to get into!
