The construction for the new MAX bus system is hard to miss; but we put up with it because it promises to alleviate traffic in Fort Collins, while also getting people where they need to go quickly. But if you're in a rush, will MAX be faster than just hopping in the car?
The new MAX Bus Rapid Transit System in Fort Collins is an idea that was proposed 14 years ago. We are finally seeing it come to life. Todd Harding had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the construction. Here is what he learned:
Mason Street in Old Town north of Mountain Ave will be closed for a few weeks so that city can work on the MAX Rapid Transit System station. There are a few different things residents need to know about the project.
All this week MAX construction will remove trees north of Drake Road and east of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway tracks in Fort Collins. The trees being removed are part of a MAX construction plan that includes transplanting or recycling and installation of replacement trees
