A U.S. Marine CH-53 Sea Stallion crashed Tuesday in the Helmand province of Afghanistan claiming 6 of the 7 souls aboard. The worst crash of it's kind since August of 2011.
Sadly, the loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' It was Lance Cpl. Matthew R. Rodriguez who went way above and beyond to defend the honor of our great nation.
Sadly, the loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' Since last Monday’s post, we have brought home two (2) deployed soldiers and four (4) explosive ordinance disposal technicians who were killed in a tragic accident last week. The last Marine accident like this was over 20 years ago.
The loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' Since last Monday’s post, three (3) more have given their all; two of them Killed In Action. Please feel free to share these Monday reminders to all you know, so they too, will remember that someone is paying for the freedom we all enjoy everyday here in the United States of America.
Sadly, the loss of life continues in 'Operation Enduring Freedom.' Since last Monday’s post, we have brought a Marine, which is one too many. Please feel free to share these Monday reminders to all you know, so they too, will remember that someone is paying for their freedom.
Sadly, the loss of life continues. Since last Monday’s post, we have brought home two more hero's to a senseless and mindless war that has no real end in sight. The longest running war, in the history of our country, only seems to be benefiting defense contractors; or so it would seem. The continuation of this war at this point serves no purpose to the citizens of the United States. Who is paying that bill?
There is no doubt the United States Army has suffered greatly the last couple months taking more casualties than any other branch of the service; four (4) more have paid the ultimate price and one United States Marine since last Monday’s post.
I was on my way home from New Mexico Sunday while doing some soul searching and ran into Jim Ellison at a rest area. What a great human being and what he is doing is just amazing considering Jim's frame was not made so much for bicycling.
News agencies across the country, and social media sites like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook have blown up with Marines being called in to hold umbrella's for the President even though it violates Marine code. Right or wrong? You be the judge by answering our poll inside the story.
We have sadly lost another Marine, Staff Sgt. Jonathan D. Davis, who gave his life last Friday the 22nd. I do believe though that we are seeing an end to our part in the war as it seems the Afghan Military is starting to do more of their part which translates to less American casualties. January 2013 there were 3 deaths compared to 26 in 2012 and February 2012 we saw 18 'Killed In Action."
The history of women serving in the Marine Corp is a fascinating story and we'd like to say Happy Birthday to the U.S. Marine Corp Women's Reserve who turn 70 today.
