People talking about information that may not be true, or may get twisted as it gets passed along. One rumor we have heard today that is NOT true has to do with the dams at Horsetooth Reservoir. They ARE safe!

Flooding Could Wash Out Bridges in Colorado: CDOT Currently Inspecting

The flood waters that caused the Big Thompson River and Poudre River to rise last night are causing problems with roadways and bridges in Northern Colorado. Many major arteries including I-25 have been shut down, and in the towns of Fort Collins and Loveland virtually every bridge that crosses these major rivers is now closed.

Health Advisory Issued For Colorado Rivers & Streams

The flooding we have experience over the past 24 hours is making the water in our rivers and streams unsafe.  The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is advising residents of Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer, Morgan, Logan, Sedgwick and Weld counties to reduce health risks by avoiding contact with rivers and streams that may be contaminated. The water could contain sewage and other waste-water due to power failures and damage to waste-water treatment systems.
