Rockies Top Hot Dodgers 6-2, Go Again Tonight

Starter Juan Nicasio and the Colorado Rockies (11-11) combined to beat the hottest team in baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers (16-7) 6-2 last night in Denver. Nicasio got the win pitching six good inning, and the Rockies bullpen was strong. The two teams meet up again tonight at 6:40 at Coors Field (TV: Root Sports).

Rockies Lose To Mets in 11, Host Dodgers Tonight

Tying the game with a Todd Helton pinch-hit grand slam in the eighth, and again with a solo Carlos Gonzalez home run in the tenth, proved not to be enough as the Colorado Rockies (10-11) fell to the New York Mets (13-9) 6-5 in 11 innings yesterday afternoon in Denver. After pounding out 18 runs on Friday night, the Colorado Rockies (10-10) could only muster five runs on nine hits, falling to the visiting New York Mets (12-9) 7-5 last night. The Colorado Rockies (9-9) won the first game of yesterday's double-header against the Pittsburgh Pirates (8-10) at PNC Park 2-1, but the dropped Game 2 to the Pirates 5-1, giving Pittsburgh the series win.
