You see, for the past few years, I've successfully resisted the urge to own a dog. We always had a dog when I was a kid growing-up and I sure do miss him. Nowadays, I tell myself that my life is too hectic
I don't eat tater tots very often but when I do I love them. I love them smothered in ketchup and dressed in cheese. I love tater tots buried in hamburger with corn and a top my favorite hot dishes. One of the most asked recipe questions for me any time of year and especially during the holidays is "What kind of side dishes can I make". Let me introduce you to my little friend the tater tot.
I am pretty sure that I have mentioned this once or twice, but Christmas eve at our house is casual with a light dinner and lots of presents. Every year I try to make something fun or order out. This year I will likely make pizza surprise.
I have seen Christmas light up the heaviest hearts and I have seen the season dampen the brightest characters. This year I have noticed a mix of both and wish there were something that I could do to turn all the frowns upside down.
Far be it for me to leave cheese out of Christmas. Give me a cheese ball, a cheese platter or a cheese sandwich and I'm happy. I am sure though that you will tell me none of my happy choices amount to a very good meal at Christmas and maybe I might just agree. so I guess we're going to have to get our cheese on in another way... let's hit the kitchen and see what's in store for our table.
What better way to count down the time to Christmas than with food? Savory food, sweet food... dishes on the side and dishes to sink your teeth in till the new year. The best way to share time and stories with friends and family is over a good plate of food and the twelve days of Christmas are full of great dishes.
The holiday season is a time for giving. Well, this is the perfect chance to do just that: give. There are a lot of kids in our community that might not get presents this year; that is, unless they come from people like YOU!
Every kid has a bicycle when he is growing up...right? Every kid should. That is where Bikes For Tykes comes in, and right now they need your help. Saturday is the deadline for donating bikes and there are more requests than there are bikes.
It's never easy deciding what to buy the ladies in your life. If she asks for an elliptical should you get it or is it a test to see if you think she's fat? If she asks for a vacuum is she really seeing if you think she is a good housekeeper? And what about kitchen appliances, what is she trying to confirm by asking for a food processor? The answers are revealed.
