The Stones of Life – Brian’s Blog
Life is a rocky road. I believe the ride is rough because of all the stones we encounter in life. Life is full of stones. We start by being brought into this world with a birthstone. A colored jewel to show the month we were born in and to celebrate the beginning of a new life. As the birthstone ages a bit we begin playing with stones and start skipping stones. Who hasn’t enjoyed being a child and sitting on the river bank trying to see how many skips you can get before it sinks? Skipping stones represent youth, discovery and playfulness.

I Still Believe It’s How You Play the Game – Brian’s Blog
Remember the old saying, “it’s not whether you win or lose it’s how you play the game”? We have always been told that since we were kids. The problem with that phrase is that it doesn’t mean anything in today’s business world. The lesson from that saying has always been to play the game with class and integrity which means more than what the scoreboard shows at the end of the game. I still believe this to be true but corporate America does not.
Tomorrow Could Be Too Late – Brian’s Blog
Today my wife has to say goodbye to her coffee buddy Fritz. Fritz was 96 years old and one of my wife’s best buddies. She has always been great with our seniors and loves the coffee conversations she has with our elders. Our seniors have so much to offer and always have great stories and wisdom to offer. Listen closely to them.
How Far Would You Go For Your Friends – Brian’s Blog
How far will you go for your friends? I have been trying to help a friend of mine who has a very bad addiction to alcohol. There are few things more sad than seeing someone you love and care for fall apart in front of your very eyes. When it comes to addiction, nothing can be done until the person themselves want to be fixed. You sit around and painfully wait for them to hit rock bottom and hope they have to will to fight on and reclaim their lives.
Clean Sheet Day – Brian’s Blog
What a great day it’s going to be. It’s Friday, Habajeeba, and it’s clean sheet night!! I love clean sheet night. Now I know I should wash my sheets more often but to be honest it only happens every few weeks. There is something so wonderful about climbing into a freshly washed set of sheets; the smell, the clean crisp feel and the fresh feeling it gives you all over.

I Don’t Understand Grumpy People; Brian’s Blog
I don’t understand grumpy people. Moods can spread like disease and grumpy is a common and wicked virus. Do you have one of those co-workers that before anyone goes into their office you have to ask what the “mood” is in there before you go in? People who are only happy when they have something to complain about have no place in my circle of friends.
Brian’s Blog; I’m a Dad & I Can’t Help It
I am a dad. I can’t help it. Even when your kids are grown you are still a dad and do dad things. My daughter and grandson are leaving for a trip to Utah today. I spent yesterday doing all the dad things. I am making her take my truck instead of her car in case of bad weather. I have it filled up, cleaned, tire pressure checked and in perfect working order. I don’t do that for me but when it’s your kid, you do.
