Why are we afraid to fail? How many times have you said or heard someone say, "What if I mess up" or "What if I get it wrong"? We seem to be so scared to make mistakes. I have made tons of mistakes and learn from them all. Half of my mistakes have made me who I am today. We cannot be afraid to fail. Failure is one of the key ingredients to wisdom. If you never mess up, you will never learn anything.

When was the last time you did something for the first time? I heard that line in a song the other day and it made me get to thinking. We get so comfortable in our ways that we end up doing the same things day in and day out. Mix it up today. Learn a new word. Take a new way to work. Eat something you have never eaten. Ride a skateboard or learn to knit. Expand your horizons today.

Is it just me or did our grandparents and parents feed us nasty treats when we were little? Today treat drawers are lined with Skittles and Snickers, when we were young we got a Ry Krisp. My wife was telling me just yesterday that her mom used to give her and her brothers and sisters a couple of wieners and a cup of vinegar for a snack. Did she hate them? What kind of snack is that?

Why can't companies have humans answer the phone anymore? Few things are more impersonal and unprofessional than an automated answering machine. I personally hate pressing "1" for any reason. We are humans calling so why can't humans talk to us?

Have you told your children and loved ones how precious they are you yet today? Please make sure you do it today. We are promised nothing in this life other than the moment you are in right now. Do not let the opportunity go by to make sure that all you have wanted to say to be heard. Losing a loved one and living with the regret of not letting know the love you feel for them would be a shame.
