The National Association of Letter Carriers will be having their 20th annual food drive this Saturday. They will be collecting non-perishable donations as they go about their daily deliveries. It is the the largest single-day food drive in the country.

Thought I would give you a quick update on my new friend Eunice the robin and her new family. I came out the nest which is on one of my fence posts and saw 3 little open mouths sticking out above the nest. They were so cute. I stuck my phone above the nest to get a picture but didn't want to get to close as to freak out Eunice.

A smile goes a long way. I don't care what you do for a living, if you work in the public, a smile should be part of your uniform. I know that when I stop in the gas station on the way to work that if the person behind the counter smiles, I have a better day.

I am the 1 in 10. I am the exception. I am the anomaly. If one person in a group gets their order messed up, bag lost, flight delayed or any other unexpected mixed up, it's me. I know many people claim this but believe me it's true for me. You can ask anyone who has gone out with me that it is true. Todd has seen it time and time again and we just laugh about it now. Just yesterday we went out for brunch and it happened again.

I wish I had a "slow" button. Is it just me or does the whole world seem to be going way to fast? I don't know of anyone who is just whelmed these days. It seems like we are all overwhelmed. I would like a couple days to just breathe and catch my breath. I know it's not just me. I see exhaustion on the face of so many of my friends and family these days.

The windshield is here! Woo hoo! You may remember a couple weeks ago I took the ride from hell on my motorcycle. We went to Topeka and back with 60 mile an hour headwinds and me with no windshield. I am happy to say those days are over.

It's the time of the year to say congrats. Congratulations to all of our graduates. What an amazing accomplishment. Whether you are graduating from high school or college, I salute you. You should be so proud of your achievement. I tried to go to college when I got out of high school. I went to college for 3 1/2 months where I majored in hanging out with the janitor and watching soap operas. I also learned how to cook Spaghetti O's in a crock pot. I appreciate those who went and actually got an education. Well done.

This weekend is a very special one for the Good Morning Guys here at K99. This weekend will be the start of the 25th year that Todd and I have been on the air together at K99. In this business, people move about all the time. Usually people are getting fired or moving on to a larger market chasing their dreams big city radio. We have been blessed to have found the perfect job and want to stay right here forever. Susan joined the show 11 years ago and took us to another level of enjoyment and helped us to win the CMA award a few years ago. We have seen so many changes through the years but the one thing that has remained constant is our love of northern Colorado and this station.

One of my favorites snacks as a kid were Fig Newtons. Whenever we would go to grandma's house you could count on her having a drawer full of gum and used tin foil and a cupboard full of Nilla Wafers and Fig Newtons.
