I think it’s time to start paying a little more attention to what is going on around us. I was just reading that serious injuries to people listening to headphones have more than tripled in the last six years.

I admit it, I am a bit of a freak. I have so many quirky things about my personality and the way I go about things. I am an odd cat and I know I am difficult to live with and figure out, (just ask my wife), in fact it has taken me years to learn how to live with me.

As I was cleaning the debris from the yard this weekend I couldn’t help but notice there was none in the neighbors’ yard. I kept thinking of that of that old saying “the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence”. Now we know that saying is referring to life in general, be it a job, relationship or whatever and it is a very deceiving saying...

5..4..3..2..1 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Thought I would get that out of the way now cause I will not be awake to do if for real. I have to be honest, New Years is my least favorite of the “major” holidays in fact I think I even get more fired up for Arbor Day.

I have been thinking a lot lately about the recent sentencing of Greeley gang leader Christopher Cox and it just kills me. Gangs disgust me more than just about anything. It makes me sick that so many people have children who are born with no hope. If you are not ready to take the time, effort and sacrifice to raise a child please do not have one.

Mrs. Eva Serrano is this week’s Teacher Tuesday Winner. Mrs.  Serrano is a 4th grade teacher at Dos Rios Elementary in Greeley! Brian Gary made the presentation yesterday. Drew from Star Painter Productions was there with his video camera.

The Broncos win again! What a great team effort against the Chargers to pull out a 16-13 overtime victory. The Broncos are now 6-5 after a 1-4 start, going 5-1 since Tim Tebow has taken over the starting quarterback job. There is no secret that I am a Tebowmaniac. I love the way the guy plays the game. I have a favor to ask this holiday season. I want you to make a vow with me to spread kindness and happiness. I think the world can be a mean and heartless place at times. It seems like we are all in such a hurry and stressed out from the daily grind that we forget what life is really all about. I firmly believe in the golden rule of treating people how I would want to be treated.

Dear NBA players, so the average salary is over $5 million a year to “play” basketball for 82 games a year, not work, not hammering, not paving roads, not teaching a room full of children, not figuring out a company payroll, not building a bridge but “playing” basketball.  You think it’s a bad deal? Are you that out of touch with the real world?
