What Would Your Parrot Say? – Brian’s Blog

Chaos surrounds me. I love a nice, quiet, drama free day but they rarely happen. My house is a house of activity and noise. I have 3 dogs(Oprah, Mini and Chevy), a daughter, wife and grandson all running around the house and that creates a bit of a stir

How Far Would You Go For Your Friends – Brian’s Blog

How far will you go for your friends? I have been trying to help a friend of mine who has a very bad addiction to alcohol. There are few things more sad than seeing someone you love and care for fall apart in front of your very eyes. When it comes to addiction, nothing can be done until the person themselves want to be fixed. You sit around and painfully wait for them to hit rock bottom and hope they have to will to fight on and reclaim their lives.

Clean Sheet Day – Brian’s Blog

What a great day it’s going to be. It’s Friday, Habajeeba, and it’s clean sheet night!! I love clean sheet night. Now I know I should wash my sheets more often but to be honest it only happens every few weeks. There is something so wonderful about climbing into a freshly washed set of sheets; the smell, the clean crisp feel and the fresh feeling it gives you all over.

Brian & His 21-Month-Old Grandson Sing George Strait [VIDEO]

I have always been exposed to the power of music. I was raised in a home where music was always blasting. The voices of Elvis, Buck Owens, Eddie Albert and more filled my home. I would be lost without music and have passed that love on to my children. Now that I am a grandpa I have a new little musical mind to shape. I have been subjecting him to my singing along to radio since he was born. Now we have video of Zander singing with Grandpa.

Gilligan’s Island Takes Me Back – Brian’s Blog

Sunday morning I found myself awake at 4:30 am and did what most people do…I drove to Wal-Mart. There were not a lot of people there at that time. No one was there to laugh at my purchase of a 20 pound bag of dog food and season 2 of Gilligan’s Island on DVD

Brian’s Blog; I’m a Dad & I Can’t Help It

I am a dad. I can’t help it. Even when your kids are grown you are still a dad and do dad things. My daughter and grandson are leaving for a trip to Utah today. I spent yesterday doing all the dad things. I am making her take my truck instead of her car in case of bad weather. I have it filled up, cleaned, tire pressure checked and in perfect working order. I don’t do that for me but when it’s your kid, you do.

Brian’s Blog; Old Time Sayings That Don’t Make Sense

Call me stupid but I just don’t understand some of the old time sayings. What were our ancestors thinking? For instance, “you can’t have your cake and eat it too”. Why? What is the point of having a cake if you can’t eat it?

Brian’s Blog; Remembering Waylon

One look at me and there is no doubt I am a bit of an outlaw. I have always been a rebel and appreciate those who march to their own beat. Ten years ago today we lost one of the original outlaws Waylon Jennings.
