A Kid's Place in Greeley has been fighting child abuse for over 20 years. They have been part of the 28 Hours of Hope for 18 years. Now they are changing their name.

The 18th Annual 28 Hours of Hope was a huge success. We had a goal of raising at least six figures to help fight child abuse in Northern Colorado and we did.

It's easy to understand why donations slow down during the late night and early morning hours of 28 Hours of Hope, but if you think about it, that is when we should be thinking about children who are being abused the most. The late night hours are when a lot of these children lay awake thinking about what they've been going through and worrying about what might happen the next day.

Shelby has been an important part of 28 Hours of Hope for many years. We appreciate having her join us each year and share her story of dealing with abuse and the help she received from local agencies.

Every year during the 28 Hours of Hope a group of kids from Wellington, and a few parents, get together and collect money around their community and bring it into the K99 studio. This year, they set a record of 35 people in their group who join us in the studio.
