A suspected drunk driver slammed into a University of Colorado police patrol car last weekend. Police believe that Douglas Eugene Hammond was traveling more than 30 mph when he slammed his vehicle into the back of the patrol car parked on Regent Drive near the Regent Administrative Center at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. The patrol car was unoccupied at the time of the crash but sustained significant damage to the rear of the vehicle. Police arrested Hammond on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI and careless driving.
