Stars Pay Tribute to ‘King of the Road’ 52 Years After First Hitting Number One [VIDEO]

There is not a country singer alive who doesn't know Roger Miller's classic hit "King of the Road". That is one of those songs like "The Gambler" or "On the Road Again" that we all have known the words to our whole lives it seems. I think every road trip we ever took as a family included a group singing of "King of the Road".

It was on this date in 1965 that Roger Miller was perched on top of the country Billboard charts with this unforgettable ode to the road. To pay tribute to this event I have put together a few cover versions of 'King of the Road' to hear some other great artists take on Roger's career making hit.
