I can't even tell you how many hours were spent organizing this Sleigh Riders event and when Mother Nature called a few days before our original weekend to plant we wondered how it would all go.  Although we still planned on 50-75 to show up and help, it only took about 30'ish to do the work of a 100 people.

What a beautiful day to plant some trees. We started our morning in Masonville over coffee and breakfast before heading out to the first plant site down Stove Prairie Road; The Colard Ranch to be exact where we would put 300 trees in the ground.

Keep in mind that there were only about 25 Sleigh Riders who actually showed up and 10 other CSU staffers etc. We were all told that because of the small numbers to help plant we probably wouldn't be able to get them all in the ground but would do our best.  We started on the Colard Ranch at 11 AM and by 11:30 AM we had 300 tree's in the ground!

WHAT?

Time for lunch then. Sadly for me, I had a work commitment that I had to be at so they all left for the second plant site, the Steadman Ranch down Old Flowers Road and I raced down the mountain into Fort Collins.

The Sleigh Riders and CSU crew, along with the Steadman family, sat down for lunch in one of the most beautiful areas in the state.  The gang got started about 1 PM and by 3:30 PM they had planted 1500 trees!

WHAT?  1900 trees, in the ground, in less than 4 hours?  Unheard of and I think even the CSU Forestry Service was very impressed with a bunch of motorcycle lovers who got down to business and got the job d.o.n.e. DONE!

I was going to mention everyone by name but for fear of missing one I am not going to.  You all know who you are and you did something this past weekend that you will be able to enjoy for the rest of your lives and the lives of your children.

We would also like to thank Mike, Bob, Jamie, Ryan and the CSU Forestry Staff who let the way; you couldn't find nicer people anywhere.  You are ALL rock stars!!!
