7 News Denver reported a construction work protection vehicle was rear-ended by a semi this morning on 1-25 south of Eisenhower Boulevard. The semi hit a crash attenuator intended to protect workers and it did its job.

Colorado State Patrol trooper Nate Reid said,"These attenuators are designed to get hit," while explaining that the attenuators absorb the impact to prevent people working in front of them from being hit. There was no one in or near the truck

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
