Halloween is on the way, and Fort Collins has an excellent list of safe trick or treating options for the kids! From the Farm at Lee Martinez Park to corn mazes all over the place, there is never a shortage of fun for the little ones around Halloween.

Safe Kid’s Trick or Treat at The Outlets at Loveland

When:  Saturday, Oct. 31st, 5-8:00 p.m.

Where:  The Outlets at Loveland, Loveland, CO

What:  Join the Outlets at Loveland for their safe trick-or-treat including free candy and hay rides. There will also be a costume contest so make sure to dress up the kids and bring them out fro an evening of fun this Halloween!

Tiny Tots Halloween

When:  Wednesday, Oct. 31st, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Where:  Old Town Square, Fort Collins

What:  Put on your costume and head down to Old Town for this fun-filled trick-or-treating event!  Goody bags will be provided for collecting candy from local businesses.  Following is the “Monster Mash” dance party at the Sunset Event Center on Linden Street with hot chocolate and cookies.  This event is designed for children under seven years old.

Halloween Enchanted Garden

When:  Saturday, Oct. 27th, 7:00 p.m.

Where:  Gardens on Spring Creek, 2145 Centre Ave., Fort Collins, CO, 80526

What:  Young children are sure to enjoy this night full of Halloween storytelling, games, and crafts.  Admission is $3.  Don’t forget your costume!

BowWowvania

When:  Saturday, Oct. 27th, 7:00 p.m.

Where:  The Farm at Lee Martinez Park, 600 N. Sherwood St., Fort Collins, CO, 80521

What:  Who says trick-or-treating has to be just for kids?  BowWowvania offers a Halloween experience especially for dogs.  Dogs can not only “trick-or-treat” but get their picture taken and leave with a treat bag as well.  All dogs must be on a leash and accompanied by at least one human.  Admission is $5.

Hogwarts Halloween

When:  Saturday, Oct. 27th, 5-9:00 p.m.

Where:  Northside Aztlan Community Center, 112 Willow Street, Fort Collins, CO

What:  Calling all Gryffindors!  It’s time to celebrate Halloween in the magical world of Harry Potter!  From Quidditch to a witch band, drinking Butter Beer to creating potions, this event will send you into the wizarding realm for sure.  For children kindergarten-8th grade.  Admission $15/child, $5/adult.  Preregistration is required.

Howl-O-Ween Twilight Trick-or-Treat

When: Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28 from 3 pm – 8 pm.

Where:  Centennial Village at 14th Ave. and A St. in Greeley

What: Bring your little ghost or goblin for a full night of spooky activities.  Knock on the doors of the Village and get a sweet treat from the residents or get warm by the fire with warm drinks and snacks sold by the 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus. More trick or treat activities like, candle dipping, pick your own pumpkin and spooky hay-rack rides will be available all evening long. Enter the Centennial Village Costume Contests at 5 pm and 7 pm. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for kids (3 – 12) and students and free for children 2 years and under.

Downtown Greeley Trick or Treat Street

When:  Friday, October 26th @ 4:30 p.m.

Where: Downtown Greeley

What:  Come pick up your bag and map in front of the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, then take the little tykes to trick or treat at over 35 participating downtown businesses. Tots can also decorate pumpkins on the Rio patio.

2013 Greeley Stampede Demolition Derby Gears Up July 7th

The Greeley Stampede is coming up, and you know what that means. Corndogs, cowboy hats, concerts, and cars. One of the best parts of the 10-day festival is the demolition derby. Hundreds (yes, hundreds) of drivers will partake in the destructive chaos. This year's demolition derby will take place on July 7th at 2:00 PM, and tickets cost $20-25.

Yesterday the Greeley Stampede announced Bill and Sharon Farr as the 2013 Greeley Stampede Grand Marshals. Bill Farr is a fourth generation Greeley native and the third generation in his family, including Harry W. Farr and W.D. Farr, to be chosen as a Grand Marshal.  He and his family
