Rock’n Western Rendezvous Happens This Weekend at the Ranch in Loveland
The Ranch Events Complex has added a brand new event to the line up this year. Visit Loveland’s Rock’n Western Rendezvous, presented by the Colorado Lottery and American Cowboy Magazine on May 30-31 which will feature Colorado’s largest barbeque competition, live music – including a kick off concert featuring Easton Corbin and Stoney LaRue on Saturday – a WRCA Ranch Rodeo competition and more.
The Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned competition is coming to The Ranch Events Complex to fill the barbeque void in a state full of professional BBQers. Until now, there has never been a barbeque competition of this size in Colorado, and the producer of the event, Smoke on the Water Productions invited the Team of the Year from the biggest barbeque associations in the U.S. to represent their region. Teams will be professionally judged in four categories – chicken, ribs, brisket and pork butt – on Sunday.
Additionally, the inaugural Rock’n Western Rendezvous Ribba-Ramma is an amateur competition created especially for local weekend warriors. On Saturday, May 30, local backyard grillers are encouraged to compete, and with $1,000 in prize money on the line, it’s a great opportunity for Northern Colorado braggin’ rights. For more information, or to register, visit the Rock’n Western Rendezvous page.
For those more interested in enjoying a weekend of barbeque, free samples will be available on a first come first served basis on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
On Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m., Easton Corbin and Stoney LaRue will hit the stage in The Ranch Courtyard. Fans are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy this outdoor concert under the stars.
Known for his hits “Clockwork,” “Lovin’ You Is Fun” and “All Over the Road,” Easton Corbin has received 13 country music award nominations and has won three country music trophies. With “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It,” Corbin was the first country music artist in 17 years to have his first two consecutive singles reach No. 1. His newest album, “It’s About to Get Real” is scheduled to release later this year.
Texas Country/Red Dirt artist Stoney LaRue is a circuit mainstay known for his high-energy shows. That same intensity can be found on his newest album, “Aviator,” which includes tracks like “It’s Too Soon” and “Golden Shackles.” LaRue came on the scene in 2002 with his first album, “Downtown,” and has been producing hits ever since.
With fun for the entire family, the Rock’n Western Rendezvous offers events and activities for wearers of ball caps and cowboy hats alike.
