On a wet and windy day in Denver, the Arizona Diamondbacks (6-3) salvaged a 5-2 win to keep the Colorado Rockies (4-5) from sweeping the series, after Colorado won on Friday and Saturday. The Rockies welcome the San Diego Padres (2-7) to town tomorrow night at 6:40, opening a three game series at Coors Field. (TV: Root Sports.)

The Rockies are 4 games behind the NL West leading Dodgers who are off to a quick 8-1 start. The Diamondbacks trail LA by just 2 games.

Chris Young blasted a first-inning two-run homer, and Trevor Cahill threw 7/13 dominating innings, allowing only one run on four hits and striking out six. Prospect Drew Pomeranz lasted 4 1/3 innings in his Colorado debut, allowing five runs on nine hits.
